Yáñez bolsters the Malaguista goal

The goalkeeper arrives from Getafe CF on a free transfer. The player will remain with the Entity for three seasons, until 24/25.

Orlando Rubén Yáñez Alabart (12/10/1993, Lloret de Mar-Girona) is a goalkeeper with extensive experience in professional football. Agile in goal with security in blocking, Yáñez is a guarantee in the defence of the goal.

At just 16 years of age, he formed part of the Girona FC squad. His meteoric projection led him to join the Real Madrid CF youth academy, where he trained between Real Madrid C and Castilla. With the Whites’ reserve team, he played 30 games in 2ªB in the 14/15 campaign.

Following his consolidation in the lower categories, he made the leap to the main ‘merengue’ squad that was proclaimed champion of LaLiga Santander, two UEFA Champions Leagues, a Club World Cup and two European Super Cups.

Later, he alternated between the First and Second Divisions with Cádiz CF (17/18 season, 2nd), Getafe CF (18/19, 1st), SD Huesca (19/20, 2nd) and Getafe CF again (20/21 and 21/22 seasons, 1st).

Rubén is now part of the Málaga CF project until the 24/25 campaign. The goalkeeper arrives in a zero-cost transfer where his club of origin, Getafe CF, saves a percentage in a future transaction.

Welcome to the Costa del Sol, Rubén!
