Women’s goals with a Malagueño accent

Striker María Ruiz is the Málaga-born ‘pichichi’ of the team. She scored in the last three games in the promotion playoffs and debuted in the First Division with the 2-0 against RCD Espanyol.

Málaga CF Femenino’s goals are Malaguistas and Malagueños. María Ruiz (Almáchar, 11/01/2001) has been in charge of this, since the left-winger lives for the goal, it’s her best ally, which she’s proved in the last few matches for Antonio Contreras’ team.

The young Malaguista debuted in the First Division against Atlético de Madrid Femenino on Liga Iberdrola matchday 1, and on matchday 5 against RCD Espanyol she netted the 2-0. Her goal was the first for the Malagueña in the elite and was part of the team’s first victory of the season.

In addition, her name has been a constant in both the Second Division and the promotion playoffs. She scored the 0-1 against CD Femarguín in the third match of the playoffs, which served as a pass to the top flight of women’s football in Spain.

María Ruiz scored in three of the four games the team played in the promotion playoffs:

SPA Alicante 0 – 2 Málaga CF Femenino (0-2, minute 78).

CD Femarguín 0 – 1 Málaga CF Femenino (0-1, minute 72)

Málaga CF Femenino 2 –1 SPA Alicante (2-1, minute 42).

During the regular phase of the Second Division, María scored a total of 11 goals, and scored consecutively in the last two games of last season: against Pozoalbense and CD Híspalis.

María Ruiz began her career within the Málaga Femenino youth ranks in 2013 and has moved up to the women’s first team.
