Press conference

“We’ll give everything to ensure the points stay here”

Malaguista captain, Fede Ricca held a press conference earlier today: “The team wants to reward the fans with a victory as soon as possible because they’ve shown us all their support and affection”.

A difficult match

“We know we have a very important match ahead of us, against a rival that has been doing things very well, which is why they’re at the top of the table. For us it’s essential that we win the three points for all that they signify and because we’re against a rival fighting for the same objectives as us”.

Calm in the dressing room

“The team is very calm, we’ve been in the top part of the table for several months. We’ve got a very important game coming up, with three points at stake that are just as important as the next three, but obviously we’re facing a rival in pole position, so we know it’s going to be tough”.

Important, but not crucial

“We know we have the opportunity to narrow the points gap and get to a very good position, although there’s a long way to go yet in the league competition, and nothing is going to be decided as yet”.

Consistency

“Always being among the top six teams highlights the level of consistency we’ve had over the past few months. We’re now heading into the final stretch of the league and have to press a little more in order to win as many points as possible”.

Recovered from injury

“This season I’ve achieved the level of consistency I wanted. Last season’s injury is now in the past and I’m feeling very good”.

Unity is fundamental

“The most fundamental thing is the unity we’ve had, which has served for us to get over the times we’ve lost or not experienced a good run of results. We’ve let some points escape in draws, but I believe the team has always maintained the same attitude and intensity. It’s true that we’re lacking a bit of clarity in the final metres to score, but the team is on the right track, with the same level of enthusiasm as day one”.

Dedicate a victory to fans

The team wants to reward the fans with a victory as soon as possible because they’ve shown us all their support and affection. When we don’t give them a good result, it really annoys us. In the last two games the fans have been amazing. I ask they continue to trust in us, we’ll need them on Monday and the team will give everything on the pitch to ensure the points stay here”.

The rival - Osasuna

“The first-round game is now in the past. We must take into account Osasuna’s strengths, which is what we’re focusing on. From midfield advancing upfront they have fast players who move around a lot which we need to counter. After that, we need to hurt them with what we can do as a team”.
