Welcome to training with open arms

Around a thousand fans joined the team in training this morning, Tuesday 12th October, Hispanic Day, on a day filled with colour and joy in the stands.

Two years, nine months and nine days, 1,013 days in total. This is the length of time that has passed since Málaga CF's last open training session. COVID-19 had prevented a party atmosphere that, for the team, is of vital importance. Feeling the warmth and support of the fans, not just in a match but also on a normal training day, really helps the players to recharge their batteries.

There was a great atmosphere in the stands. Many families chose to spend this holiday Tuesday accompanying their team wearing the Blue and White colours. The youngest fans couldn’t hide their excitement when their idols stepped on to the pitch, whilst the elder ones watched the team give their all throughout the session.

Undoubtedly one of the best moments was when several of the players approached the stands to give away signed footballs to the fans. Just at that moment, Blue and White coach, José Alberto López took the opportunity to meet little Adán. This young Malaguista suffers from ethylmalonic encephalopathy, a rare disease of which he is the only patient in Spain and one of 30 in the world. This little boy was personally sent a football signed by the entire squad on the pitch.

La Rosaleda enjoyed a magical day, one of those days that brings much-needed joy to the stands. There’s still time to become a Genio Malaguista. With you we’ll be much stronger.

I love you, Málaga!
