“We want to be the team we were for 70 minutes of the previous match”
José Alberto spoke to the media in a press conference at La Rosaleda the day before #IbizaMálaga. “We’re planning to be very demanding physically”, he stated.
The Blue and White coach praised tomorrow’s rival. “Ibiza have recently been promoted, they’re a compact block, solid, with several important players from last season, and with the same coaching team. On a competitive level they’re a difficult rival to analyse, the structures vary a lot and the way of defending changes depending on the game. A very hard-working team that will make things very tough for us”.
In regard to the Club’s latest signings: “Antoñín is a player you know well, he can play on the wing and upfront. He’s extremely enthusiastic, with a great desire and hunger, we hope he has a good season (…) Victor is coming to complete that right-back position, we know him well and was one of the best right-backs last season. We hope that this year he’ll put on a good performance,” he stated.
In MCF’s first league match, despite the draw at home, the lads put on a good show: “The idea is to be the team we were for the first 60-70 minutes of the previous match. Following that, the game varied more due to our physical condition and because we weren’t prepared, with players with certain problems and only playing a few minutes during the preseason. We’re planning to be very demanding physically, we were one of the teams that ran the most kilometres during the previous game”, said José Alberto.
“We always like to bet on young people and then there’s the issue of performance. We’re not looking at age or background. The other day the appearance of Roberto and Kevin was good news. Everyone is pushing hard each day, the training sessions are excellent and they’re making things difficult for us. Whoever relaxes, there’ll be another teammate who will overtake him”, said the coach.
