“We need to win the points and seal the deal”
Málaga CF coach, Sergio Pellicer held a remote press conference this afternoon at La Rosaleda, the day before the upcoming league clash with RCD Mallorca.
An indestructible Málaga
“I believe Málaga are indestructible. We’ve seen over the past year and a half…there have been problems and very few teams, in Spain, would have achieved what Málaga have achieved. In terms of everything, the media, fans and everyone involved, when bad things happen people rise up, new faces arrive, always full of enthusiasm. Not many people can say that. Around 80% of teams that would have lived Málaga’s situation over the last year and a half I don’t think would be in this division”.
Match against Mallorca
“We’ve got a crucial match coming up tomorrow. Out of the remaining five games we need to score as many points as possible and be ambitious in order to achieve peace of mind. For me, it’s a feat and it’s all about taking steps forward to improve the present. There (Mallorca) competed well and from a set piece and another foul in the second half, went 2-0 up. It’s incredibly tough competing against this type of rival”.
Seal the deal
“We have to get a little more from within, that last play, that moment when we’re playing for something more. The team does that, and that’s what we want to convey. With a very good defensive structure, we need to try and hurt the rival, a team that holds many records. It’s about playing the long game and staying in it, as we need to win the points and seal the deal, for this group of players, the fans, and end the season in a positive way”.
