Malaguista coach, José Alberto López spoke to the media hours before departing for Valladolid for LaLiga SmartBank matchday 9. “We want to be a solid group that plays the same at home or away.”
Málaga CF are up against Real Valladolid CF tomorrow, Friday. In the run-up to the game, Blue and White coach José Alberto López held a press conference at La Rosaleda.
The coach kicked-off by analysing the rival: “Tomorrow’s match is against a rival to beat, having recently been relegated to the Second Division. It’s going to be highly difficult and demanding.”
During the press conference, he referred to the uneven dynamic between home and away matches: “With the return of the fans to the stadium it seems that the trend of winning points at home has increased compared to the previous season. Away from home we have to improve and be that team we see every fortnight at La Rosaleda. We must improve.”
In regard to the team line-up, José Alberto has no doubts: “We focus on the daily performances and sensations. The game shows that we have some great professionals, a highly involved team and any absence can be successfully resolved. We have players of a very high level who are able to help the team in their role,” he stated.
Midfielder Luis Muñoz underwent surgery on his knee injury on Wednesday. Fortunately, the operation was a success and he’ll soon start his recovery. “I’ll speak to him this afternoon whilst we’re travelling. He seems very animated, the operation went very well. Now the countdown is on and we’ll soon have him back helping us on the pitch, which is what we all want,” said the coach when asked about Luis.
The great news is undoubtedly the reincorporation of Pablo Chavarría to the squad list after 220 days, following his cruciate ligament tear. “He’ll be called-up tomorrow. It’s excellent news for everyone. He’s been taking small steps forward, but there’s a long way to go until we see thePablo Chavarría we want to see. He’s going more to reintegrate than to have minutes, but by being in the squad list he can have the possibility to play,” he concluded.
