The Málaga CF coach analysed the 0-0 in Almendralejo in a press conference. “We saw few quality plays in this match, but great intensity”, he stated.
Analysis of the draw
“Scoring points is always positive. Our intention was to come away with three points, particularly with our performance in the second half. We were anticipating an intense game. In the first half the team was solid, and we again managed to keep a clean sheet, allowing us to claim at least one point. In the second plays we struggled and after half-time we corrected this and generated some promising situations on the wing, but we lacked definition. We saw few quality plays in this match, but great intensity. The final result was a draw, and that’s that”.
Dominance and precision
“We don’t consider this a step backwards, it’s a positive point (…) During the first half, in terms of attack, we weren’t at our best. We spent a lot of time close to our area, but in the second half, we were able to dominate play more. We lacked accuracy in the final pass in order to score a goal”.
Substitutions and Julio
“Renato and Juanpi came on and did very well, as did Julio. We’re happy with his debut and I’m sure he’ll have more minutes in the Cup”.
