Víctor: “It’s not one final, there are seven left”

The Málaga CF coach analyses his first impressions in a pre-match press conference in the run-up to #AlcorcónMálaga. “The players have been incredibly attentive and have a phenomenal willingness to work hard”.

#AlcorcónMálaga

“We want the three points, we’re not looking beyond that. It’s not a final, as that’s when there’s nothing else left and a champion is proclaimed. We have a way to go during the eight remaining matchdays, and out of the seven games left, we’re going to give all we’ve got. As such, we have to talk about seven finals, not one, and take all seven into account. We’re focused on this match and going for the three points”.

Work

“We’ve worked, the players have been incredibly attentive and have a phenomenal willingness to work hard. There’s very little time to prepare when these circumstances of chance occur, but the entire coaching team is extremely satisfied with the players, their attitude, willingness, effort and attention, and we’ve had time to prepare everything we wanted to. With more time, I’m sure we’ll be able to achieve a much better command of all the concepts we want to change”.

The rival

“We’ve prepared for the match with the focus on attempting to give importance to our players, but in the analysis we’ve done of the rival, we’ve found a team that, far from the inconsistency of results, has a very clear and defined model, and with an ability to play well. Despite the results, which aren’t too positive, they’ve had an away win, but victory at home is proving more of a struggle. They have a very clear model, that we’ve assessed, so we’re going to try to exploit their weaknesses and minimise their strengths”.
