Victory with a ‘V’ for Víctor

Triumph away from home for Málaga CF against AD Alcorcón by 1-4. Ontiveros scored a brace, and Adrián and Renato also netted goals during Víctor Sánchez del Amo’s debut as Blue and White coach.

Málaga CF headed to Santo Domingo stadium to face AD Alcorcón for their first match at this ground. New Blue and White coach, Víctor Sánchez del Amo introduced various changes to the line-up. Lombán, Renato and Keidi all featured in the starting-11, along with N’Diaye and Ricca, the latter two returning to the team after completing a one-match suspension last weekend due to an accumulation of yellow cards. Rainfall took centre stage during play, impacting the turnout at the Madrid stadium.

The Malaguistas began with more presence in the rival area in the opening stages. Two good attempts by Renato Santos on the right wing were about to end in a goal, but the ball didn’t connect with Blanco Leschuk. The first goal of the game arrived after 12 minutes, the work of Ontiveros. The Blue and White winger launched a superb right-footer from the edge of the area, sliding into Dani Jiménez’s goal past the left post to go 0-1 in front. Following the goal, Víctor Sánchez del Amo’s men continued their attack. In 18’, Cristóbal Parralo had to substitute Dani Toribio due to injury. Elgezabal came on in his place. Málaga CF’s second goal originated from a great counter attack that started with Blanco Leschuk. Adrián converted the 0-2 at the base of the post after an assist from the Argentinean striker. The Málaga attack showed no signs of stopping. Five minutes before half-time, Ontiveros came close to scoring the third goal, but his shot was deflected by Dani Jiménez. Just before the half-time whistle, Juan Muñoz scored for AD Alcorcón from the penalty spot. The scoreboard showed 1-2 after 45 minutes.

The second half got underway with no changes for either side. The locals tightened up after the break and generated a couple of good chances to go level. In minute 53, Víctor Sánchez del Amo’s team scored their third goal. A textbook counter-attack with a masterful assist from Blanco Leschuk to Renato Santos. The Portuguese winger netted the goal as the rival keeper moved out. 1-3. However, the new coach wanted more. Renato was replaced by Iván Alejo in the 70th minute. A minute later, an Ontiveros free kick led to the fourth goal to seal the win. 1-4. Keidi left his place on the pitch for Lacen 15 minutes before the final whistle. The locals kept insisting but didn’t narrow the gap. Víctor Sánchez del Amo debuted at the helm of the Malaguista squad.
