Víctor García: I know what it means to be a Málaga player

The new Malaguista player was officially presented in the 'Juan Cortés' press room at La Rosaleda. “It’s essential to be humble and work hard every day to achieve something beautiful,” he said.

Víctor García appeared before the media accompanied by Loren Juarros. The Malaguista sporting director thanked him for “the commitment and having invested in this project. We’re going to generate an exciting project, with the confidence that everything will go well. You are going to be fine here, and for a long time,” he commented.

The winger confessed to having had “several options both to return to Spain and to continue overseas.” However, “when they told me about Málaga's option it was something special. I have family here, I've been here many summers and I know what it means to be a Málaga player. I knew it was going to be something special, if the conditions were perfect for me and my family there would be no problem,” he explained.

Among the factors that made him decide to come to the Costa del Sol, Víctor highlighted that “football culture, passion, involvement and day-to-day demands are special in Spain. Málaga is a team that represents a lot to me. We value many options, but Málaga was my priority,” he went on to say.

His ties to the city are in his blood: “I have a lot of family here on my mother's and grandparents' side. We’ve spent many summers here, first with my parents and then to see my cousins. With football the relationship will be much greater. This was undoubtedly the right place. I am not from here, but since I have ties and a connection to Málaga, it’s special to me. I am going to defend the club like the many people who have passed through here before me. It’s essential to be humble and work hard every day to achieve something beautiful.”

Víctor believes that he will “bring enthusiasm and professionalism and an eagerness to do my bit. The experience I have is going to be important. I can contribute what I experienced in Castellón to move up. Málaga has to focus on the day to day, improve and form a group. This is how great things are done. If know we have to be humble, everything will go better,” he concluded.
