Víctor: “By playing like this, matches usually go your way”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda following #MálagaMallorca: “With this aggressive and courageous mentality, we’ll achieve many victories”, he stated.

Match analysis

“It hurts due to the level of anger this type of match leaves you with, but we know these situations occur. It’s upsetting as we weren’t able to clinch victory, which is a shame, but the effectiveness marks football. We were up against a highly competitive rival, which is why they’re in the top part of the standings. We’ll work hard to improve and have been encouraging the players, there’s a long way to go yet. By playing like this, matches usually go your way, but it wasn’t to be today. The line the team is on is positive, and that’s the way to get the results”.

Equality

“There’s a great deal of equality, the standings are incredibly tight amongst the teams fighting for direct promotion or play-off positions. With this aggressive and courageous mentality, I have no doubt that we’ll achieve many victories”.

Confidence

“If we win all the matches, we’re in the First Division, that’s our objective, as we believe we have a superb team of players in order to win every game. The fans have seen the commitment, the constant pressure and gameplay, but there are times when the ball just won’t go in. We’ll work and improve, we have utmost confidence and winning all the remaining matches we’ll get back to the First Division, we’re still thinking about it”.

Accuracy

“We played the majority of the game in the rival half. We lacked a little more efficiency and precision in these situations. Mallorca had very few opportunities, but from a throw-in they managed a quality shot into goal from the only dangerous action. This difference in accuracy determines everything in football”.

Fans

“We wanted to give the fans the joy of a win and keep them hooked on the challenge of returning to the elite. We don’t have to ask them for anything as we know they’ll be there. I’ve seen it for myself, we can count on our fans to be here at La Rosaleda and we’ll really go for it in the next match”.
