Coach Héctor Díaz fielded the following starting-11: M. Arrabal; Encarni, Marina, Jeni L., Yoli Peche; M. Farfán (C), L. Herrera, Andrea Ríos, Andrea Herrero; Alicia and Futu. Belén, Valeriano, Elena, Yessenia, and Noemi also played in the second half.
The opening stages of the match were dominated by the Blue and Whites, although the game was not particularly entertaining and the strong wind made play very difficult. Pozuelo de Alarcón held firm in defence against Málaga’s attacks, and the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
In the second half, everything changed. Málaga, taking advantage of the wind at their backs, became a whirlwind for their opponent. In particular, Futu was an inexhaustible attacking force, enjoying a seemingly endless love affair with goals. The ‘11’ opened the scoring with her usual sharpness, latching onto a superb cross from Encarni (1-0, 56’).
With 15 minutes remaining, a long-range effort from captain Farfán was parried by the Madrid side’s goalkeeper, and Futu, of course, pounced on the rebound to slot it into the net (2-0, 75’). It was the striker’s fifth league goal of the season; every time she has scored this campaign, her team has gone on to win.
Blanca briefly pulled one back for CF Pozuelo (2-1, 78’), but Málaga responded with an iron fist. Noemi, scoring from a superb direct free kick (3-1, 83’), and Yessenia, with a beautifully taken goal (4-1, 87’), sealed the match.
Three more points bring the total to 35, keeping Málaga CFF in second place, provisionally, in the standings, in the promotion playoff spots to the Primera Federación. Vamos, Málaga!
