Sevilla’s superiority shines through in Huelva

Málaga CF Femenino suffered a defeat to Sevilla FC in the semi-finals of the Copa Andalucía. The Liga F side proved too strong for the Malaguistas, running out clear 6-0 winners.

Héctor Díaz’s side, who defeated Real Betis Balompié 2-0 last Sunday in the quarter-finals of the tournament organised by the RFAF, returned to action on Wednesday at the Antonio Toledo Stadium at the Ciudad Deportiva Francisco Mendoza in Huelva.

The Malaguista starting line-up was as follows: homegrown goalkeeper Celia between the posts; Farfán, Jeni, Yoli Peche and Elsa in defence; Andrea Ríos as the holding midfielder, with the new signings Carmela and Lucía Ramos on the wings; Andrea Herrero in the attacking midfield role, with Yessenia and Arantxa further forward. Belén, Encarni, Futu, Noemi and Carmen Aguilar also featured.

Standing in their way was one of the elite sides in Spanish football, Sevilla FC. From the outset, Sevilla demonstrated their quality with two quick goals. Blom opened the scoring (1-0, 9’), before Yoli Peche put through her own net to make it 2-0 (18’).

Blom struck again from the penalty spot in the 40th minute to make it 3-0. Before half-time, Gemma added a fourth in the 44th minute, sending the teams into the break with Sevilla firmly in control.

Málaga improved after the restart, but Sevilla’s clinical finishing saw them extend their advantage further. Kanteh scored twice, in the 48th and 64th minutes, to complete the final 6-0 scoreline.

A highly demanding test for a Málaga Femenino that has only been in preseason for two weeks.
