Málaga CF triumphed over Levante UD 'B' away on matchday 22 of Group 2 in Segunda Federación. It was their third consecutive win, and second straight away victory for the Blue and Whites.
Elena Martínez wasted no time, creating the first chance for MCFF in less than a minute. The match was very evenly contested in its opening third, with the forwards getting the better of the defences until, as expected, Elena made her mark. A winter signing with immediate impact, she put the team ahead in the final moments of the first half, capitalising on a cross from Andrea Herrero (0-1, 42').It was Elena's fourth goal in five matches for the Blue and Whites.
In the second half, chaos ensued right after the match resumed. A very negative start for Málaga Femenino, conceding two goals in just three minutes by the hosts: Carol (1-1, 47’) and Alma (2-1, 49’). However, the Blue and Whites managed to recover quickly and equalise immediately, thanks to the opportunism of Andrea Herrero and an involuntary contribution from Claudia, who scored an own goal (2-2, 52’).
The hardest part was done, overcoming the blow of conceding two goals after having the lead. Then, in the final stretch, came the turnaround. Arantxa took a free kick with her usual quality, and Alicia headed the ball into the net (2-3, 73’).
In the final minutes, MCFF knew how to hold onto their advantage, and in stoppage time came the most emotional moment of the day. Yoli Peche, after a long absence due to injury, returned to the pitch and enjoyed the +3 in Valencian territory.
The team achieved their third consecutive win, solidifying their position in 6th place on the table with 34 points, just three points behind the fifth-placed team (Olympia Las Rozas, with 37). Next week, at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF, Málaga CF will face Real Unión de Tenerife Santa Cruz.
