The Alejandro González Stadium hosted another away league fixture for Málaga CF on Saturday, with kick-off at 17:00 against EM Féminas Soliss Fuensalida. The Blue and White starting-11 was made up of M. Arrabal; Encarni (C), Jeni L., Yoli Peche, Elsa; Carmela, Marina Tomás, Andrea Ríos, L. Ramos; Andrea Herr. and Futu. Yessenia, Lucía Correro and Alba Navarro also came on during the match.
The first half was a closely contested affair, with few clear-cut chances at either end. The main talking point came in the 34th minute, when Futu found the back of the net, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside. The score remained 0-0 at half-time.
The Malaguistas came out for the second half determined to find the breakthrough. Marina had the first chance of the half, before Futu went close again in the 52nd minute. The forward found the net once more in minute 67, but the goal was again ruled out.
The visitors’ persistence finally paid off late on. In the 87th minute, Andrea Herrero fired Málaga into a 0-1 lead, which ultimately secured all three points for Héctor Díaz’s side. The victory moves the team to the top of the table with 10 points, although the rest of the matchday is yet to be completed.
