A point in Granada keeps the hope alive (0-0)

Málaga CF Femenino drew 0-0 away against Granada CF ‘B’ in their matchday 21 clash in Group 3 of the Segunda Federación. They remain in third place with 43 points, level with second-placed Sporting de Huelva.

Málaga CF Femenino visited the Estadio Municipal Emilio Baena this Sunday at 12:00 to face Granada CF ‘B’ on matchday 21 of Group 3 in the Segunda Federación.

The Blue and Whites, playing in their third kit today, came into the clash in third place with 42 points, one ahead of their regional derby rivals, who were fourth.

Héctor Díaz set up a starting-11 in a 1-4-4-2 formation with María Arrabal in goal; Lorena Herrera, Jeni, Yoli Peche, and María Farfán in defence; Marina Tomás and Andrea Ríos as the double pivot; Elena and Alicia on the attacking wings; and Futu and Arantxa as the most advanced players.

From the start, MCFF tried to dictate the pace, but without creating any clear chances on the Granada goal. That changed in the 25th minute, when Futu received a pass from Alicia, only for a Granada defender to deny her with a clearance on the line. On the rebound, Elena also failed to score.

Until half-time, Málaga continued to dominate, but the score remained unchanged.

After the break, the same pattern continued, and Alicia had a chance to break the deadlock with a cross shot that went wide. Minutes later, following a play that started from a throw-in, the number 9 had another attempt but was unlucky.

Past the midpoint of the second half, the Blue and Whites made changes, three during the first substitution window. Noemi, Carmen Aguilar, and Andrea Herrero came on for Futu, Elena, and Marina. In the 80th minute, Arantxa was replaced by Águeda, and the final substitution came in the 86th minute when Encarni replaced Alicia.

Despite Málaga’s dominance and the bench rotations, the match ended 0-0, leaving the standings unchanged, with MCFF in third place on 43 points. Their next league fixture is away again, on Saturday the 21st at 11:00 mainland time, against CD Femarguín in Gran Canaria.
