Uche: “Our dream is to focus on the next game”

Malaguista striker, Ikechukwu Uche held a press conference at the Ciudad de Málaga following morning training. “It makes no sense to think further ahead than the next match.”

Absence of Charles

“Starting line-up?  It’s a possibility that depends on the coach.  It’s a shame Charles is unable to play, he’s an important player for us, but I think anyone on the team can be substituted, so we hope to perform well in our next game.”

Match by match

“Our dream is to always win and focus on the next game we’re going to play.  It makes no sense to think further ahead, all we want to do is win matches.  We tried the other day but it wasn’t possible, however a point is always good when you don’t lose.  Obviously we want to win, but things can go wrong that make victory impossible.  Now though we’re thinking about the next game, which won’t be easy; any match we play is difficult, but we’re focused on our preparations.”

Granada, tough rival

“I think perhaps it’ll be more difficult than the game against Espanyol.  They are a rival fighting to not fall into the relegation zone, so we’ll prepare ourselves well for what awaits us there.  We’re focused on victory, nothing more, and although it’ll be tough, we’ll do all we can to win the points in play.”

Fans’ enjoyment

“The important thing is to give our all and try and enjoy it.  That’s what we need to do from now until the final.  The fans always get behind the team in the good times and bad, so we must do everything to ensure the fans enjoy the game, which is the most important thing.”
