Málaga CF Femenino lost by 5-0 against Sevilla FC Femenino at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios on Liga Iberdrola matchday 23. Payne, Pinel and Morilla scored for Sevilla.
Málaga CF Femenino found themselves up against a difficult opponent no sooner had the match got underway. Raquel Pinel attempted to open the scoring for the locals in minute 5 with a shot Chelsea saved with her foot to temper the nerves within the Blue and White squad. From that moment, things evened out and the Malaguistas defended the Sevilla attacks without any problem.
The clearest chance for Antonio Contreras’ girls arrived in 22’ with a header from Raquel that landed in the hands of Noelia Gil, although both Adriana and Leti had tried to score with long shots towards the target minutes before. As Málaga advanced their lines, Sevilla made the most of a gap within the visitors’ defence. Payne, from the left wing, surpassed Chelsea to put the locals 1-0 up before half-time.
As the second half started, Contreras made some changes, bringing on Ode in substitution of Bassira. Soon after play resumed, Málaga came close to going level with a shot from Paula, but the tables soon turned. In the 51st minute, Pinel, from a counter attack, scored the 2-0, and three minutes later the same player took her team to a 3-0 lead thanks to a well-placed ball from a corner. Málaga had no time to react as Sevilla made it 5-0 in 65’ and 66’ consecutively with goals from Morilla and Payne.
The entrance of Mascaró in place of Paula in 75’ brought verticality to the Blue and Whites, and in 87’ the visitors came close to an honorary goal. However, the one-on-one between Noelia ad the Sevilla keeper was deflected. There was no time for more and league matchday 23 ended with a 5-0 result.
