Three points against UD Ibiza remain at La Rosaleda (1-0)

Málaga CF defeated the rival from the Balearics in a closely contested duel. Dioni's goal in the 50th minute from the penalty spot decided the match.

Málaga CF hosted UD Ibiza this Sunday on Primera Federación matchday 26 at La Rosaleda in front of 26,130 fans. The dedicated fans welcomed their team within a unique and unparalleled atmosphere.

The locals’ starting line-up consisted of: A. Herrero; Jokin, Einar, Nelson, Víctor; Genaro, Manu Molina; Ferreiro, Kevin, Dani Lorenzo and Dioni, who took to the pitch with very clear ideas, to dominate the ball and take the initiative in attack.

The visitors had two options disallowed for being offside. Despite the invalidity of the plays, Herrero featured in two superb saves to clear up any doubts.

Málaga CF came very close to the goal in the 30th minute of play. Manu Molina filtered an extraordinary pass between the lines to Dani Lorenzo, leaving him unmarked in front of the goalkeeper. However, the keeper guessed the intention of the number '22' and prevented him from scoring. At half-time the scoreboard remained at 0-0.

In the second half MCF continued to insist on the attack, but on this occasion they found an early reward. In the 48th minute, Kevin made a dizzying personal run behind the rival defence and, when unmarked in front of the goalkeeper, he was brought down by Rubén Díez inside the area. The referee awarded a resounding penalty without contemplation and Dioni was in charge of executing it from the 11-metre mark. The striker resolved with finesse, sending the ball into the top corner. A great goal to the delight of La Rosaleda (1-0, 50').

Pellicer's team remained calm after the goal and barely allowed any dangerous situations in their goal. The referee's three whistles ensured the three points remained at La Rosaleda.
