The ‘Peñas’ Federation pays tribute to Ben Barek and Benítez during Christmas dinner

The directors received the gold badge from the Federation of ‘Peñas Malaguistas’ at the event, in which adviser Francisco Martín Aguilar was present, along with representatives from ‘peñas’ all over the province.

The ‘Peñas’ Federation enjoyed their traditional Christmas dinner at 'La Reserva del Siglo' restaurant in the centre of Málaga.   Provincial deputy, Francisco Oblaré and representatives from the numerous supporters’ clubs throughout the province were also in attendance.

An always special dinner, which on this occasion was attended by the board of the Federation, headed up by president, Miguel Molina; deputy to the president, Pepe León; his vice president, Arturo Caracuel and all its members, who unanimously decided to pay tribute to the two symbols of ‘Malaguismo’.

Born outside of Málaga, but now adopted ‘Malagueños’, Antonio Benítez and Abdullah Ben Barek have been players, coaches, and are now advisers, representing Málaga’s timeless values, setting examples for generations to come.

Two careers that the Málaga ‘peñas’ recognise by presenting both with the Federation’s gold badge.  A recognition that last year went to adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar, who was present at the 2015 celebrations alongside his two colleagues and friends.
