Morale boost after defeating LaLiga co-leaders (1-0)

Málaga CF played the most complete match of the season against Atlético de Madrid, achieving a great win and the fourth consecutive game without defeat.

Following their elimination from the Copa del Rey, the Blue and Whites came out with a fighting spirit against the LaLiga co-leaders.  For the first few minutes the ‘Malaguistas’ were a whirlwind, and in minute 5’ the first clear goal opportunity arose for the locals.  Camacho launched from in front of the target and Charles deflected the ball with his toe towards the area, but was intercepted by a great hand save by Oblak.

The match was high intensity and Javi Gracia’s men fought every ball against Atlético one on one.  In minute 36’ it was again Charles who was in the limelight.  A great cross from Camacho allowed the Brazilian striker to be unmarked in front of the Red and Whites’ keeper, however once again it ended in frustration for the home team.

Málaga were playing their most complete match of the season, and in minute 56’ Atlético captain, Gabi left his team a man down after two yellow cards.  The Blue and Whites weren’t about to settle for a point and went all out in the rival area in search of victory.

La Rosaleda revelled in the atmosphere of the major goal chances, with the team and fans in unison.  The Blue and Whites were determined to end 2015 well following so much suffering.  The ‘Malaguistas’ deserved it and so did the team.  Of course it had to be Charles, the goal scorer for Málaga.  Success for the striker and three golden points in the final stretch of the match to become the 4th consecutive game without defeat for the ‘Malaguistas’ in LaLiga.  A fantastic end to the year at La Rosaleda.
