The MCF Foundation and Fundación Ciudadana Carnaval de Málaga present their program of joint activities, with three standout events: Cervantes Blanquiazul, #CoplaMalaguista Competition and the Carnival at La Rosaleda.
The link between Málaga CF and Carnaval de Málaga is constantly evolving and going strong. Since we first got together in the 2015/16 season, every Carnival has featured joint initiatives for Malaguista fans to share their passion for our city’s festival.
This Monday, the MCF Foundation, represented by coordinator Lucas Rodríguez, and the Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga (FCCM), with its general coordinator, Carlos Torres unveiled the programme of joint activities for the Málaga Carnival 2022.
This edition will have three major events that will highlight the relationship between Málaga CF and the city's Carnival:
- Cervantes Blanquiazul. On 22nd February, to mark the third semi-final of COAC (Official Singing Group Contest), the Cervantes Theatre will be dressed in Blue and White, with a 100 per cent Malaguista atmosphere inside.
The first 50 people to access the theatre will receive a Malaguista gift. In addition, everyone wearing a team jersey and/or Blue and White scarf will receive a ticket for #MálagaCartagena on 28th February.
During this Cervantes Blanquiazul, all members of The MBC will be present, who will enjoy a unique atmosphere, bringing more Blue and White to the theatre seats.
- #CoplaMalaguista Competition. This is being held on 28th February at 17.30 at the Plaza de la Constitución. From 5th until 22nd February, registration is open for the II Pasodoble Sentimiento Malaguista Competition. The winner will receive a Málaga CF official jersey bearing ‘Mejor Copla Malaguista 2022’, the chance to record their piece for the Club’s official cameras at La Rosaleda, and as a culmination, we’ll explain below:
- Carnival at La Rosaleda. The authors of the #CoplaMalaguista will perform their musical piece during half-time of a match at Martiricos. This will be the first time the winning Malaguista repertoire will be played at La Rosaleda.
Lucas Rodríguez, coordinator of the MCF Foundation affirmed “this collaboration is highly significant to us due to the importance of the Carnival for our city and amongst Malaguistas.”
This was echoed by Carlos Torres, general coordinator of the Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga: “We’re delighted have Málaga CF with us, we’re going to make the Cervantes into a mini La Rosaleda Stadium.”
The curtain is up for the most Malaguista Carnival!
