The weekend of June 14 to 16 has been full of football for our younger Malaguistas from the MCF School. The children’s team F11 led by Marina Gallardo and Marcos Guijada travelled to Azpeitia (Guipuzcoa) where they participated with teams such as FC Barcelona, Real Sociedad, Eibar, Valencia, Rayo Vallecano, Betis and Athletic Club, amongst others. In total, 36 children’s teams took part in this tournament.
The Malaguista squad took on Mariño and Iskaberri in the first phase of the championship and won by 1-0 and 0-3 respectively. On the second day, their rivals were the following:
Málaga CF 5-1 Zaldua
Málaga CF 4-0 Rayo Vallecano
Málaga CF 4-0 Bergara
These results allowed the Blue and White team to go to the quarterfinals as first group. In this phase, the team was eliminated against Real Sociedad 2-1. As such, the children's team debuts in this Azpeitia cup with a balance of 17 goals in favour and only 3 goals against.
