The I LaLiga Promises National Women’s Tournament makes history

Málaga CF Femenino took part in the first edition of this tournament with a team made up of Alevín players, under the orders of Antonio Utrera.

Every day, women’s football writes a new line in the pages of the history books of this sport. The latest was over the weekend with the I LaLiga Promises National Women’s Tournament organised by LaLiga.

Liga Iberdrola was perfectly represented in this tournament. As well as Málaga CF Femenino, also taking part were: Athletic Club, RCD Espanyol, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, R. Betis Balompié, Levante UD, Rayo Vallecano, Fundación Albacete, Sporting Club Huelva, Valencia Femenino, Madrid CFF and UD Granadilla Tenerife. In addition, RC Deportivo La Coruña hosted the tournament.

Madrid CFF were proclaimed champions after defeating Levante UD by (4-2).

An historic Málaga CF Femenino

A team of Alevín players from the MCF School participated in this Liga Promises. The team coached by Antonio Utrera was beaten by Athletic Club and Valencia Femenino and didn’t manage to get through the group stages.

However, beyond the results, Málaga CF made history by taking part in this, up to now unprecedented, tournament.

The Blue and Whites showed the strength of the Malaguista youth ranks and were accompanied by women’s first team coach, José Herrera who supported and encouraged the young Malaguistas.
