COVID-19 has paralysed the world. The growth pace of this pandemic has kept everyone at home to protect themselves from contracting the virus. After six weeks of lockdown, we are starting to see signs of improvement around us and a gradual return to normal is in our sights. However, over the next few months, prevention will be key. Social distancing and protection measures will become part of our daily lives until a treatment or vaccine becomes available. Our health will also depend on the health of others, again appealing to the sense of solidarity for which Málaga is renowned. Unsurprisingly, our province is one of the leaders in terms of donor and transplant statistics.
For this new context, it will be necessary to undertake measures beyond the aforementioned social distancing, and we’ll need to protect ourselves with gloves and masks. This protective equipment will play a decisive role in avoiding a new wave of infections. As such, the Fundación Olivares has launched this ambitious project, aiming to supply masks to the entire population of Málaga. In order to carry out this initiative, the organisation has requested the collaboration of various institutions and entities, including the MCF Foundation. Together with the Blue and White Foundation, around another 130 companies from different sectors have also joined the project.
