The Federation of Malaguista Peñas meets at La Rosaleda

The celebration of the assembly and Christmas gathering with the Club featured on a very special Saturday at the Blue and White stadium.

Once again, La Rosaleda proved to be the ideal place for the Club and the Federation of Malaguista Peñas to enjoy a very enriching day together. After the MCF Foundation presented its solidarity book ‘Giants of Malaga basketball’ earlier this year, the Peñas met again on Saturday the 11th at La Rosaleda.

The day kicked off with the Assembly in the Juan Cortés press room. The Peña de Torrox, Peña de Ciudad Jardín, Peña Borriquerón, Peña San Pedro, Peña Frente Comepipas, Peña Los Lunes, Peña Guadalhorce, Peña Benamiel, Peña Archidona, Peña Alameda, Peña Churriana, Peña Finlandia, Peña Antequera, Peña Fuengirola, Peña Lerele, Peña Sobre Ruedas, Peña Internacional, Peña Manilva, Peña Teba, Peña de Personas Sordas and the Peña Mollina were all represented at the event, and featured in the group photo that was subsequently taken on the pitch.

A photo that has a particular meaning for the Malaguista entity. It’s a stamp that symbolises loyalty and love for our colours. Because of this continuous trust that they give to the Club, supporting us unconditionally even during the worst times, Málaga wanted to support them on such an important day. Headed up by Francisco Martín Aguilar, Protocol and Institutional Relations Adviser, also present were Alberto Martínez, director of the Finance and Administration Department; Carlos Arias, director of the Business Department; Ana Vera, director of the Institutional Relations Department; and Lucas Rodríguez, MCF Foundation coordinator. José María Muñoz and Manolo Gaspar excused their absence as they were accompanying the first team on their visit to Eibar.

On arrival at La Rosaleda’s VIP area, they enjoyed a Christmas gathering, with the MCFTV cameras speaking to a number of the guests. “For us, particularly considering the situation we’re in, it’s so important that all the Peñas are behind Málaga CF. We are all one family and must continue moving forward together,” said Paco.

In addition, Miguel Molina, president of the Federation of Malaguista Peñas, also had a few words for the cameras: “Every year we enjoy a Christmas lunch together, and this year marks our 20th anniversary. We were very much looking forward to celebrating, but due to the pandemic, we had to postpone it until Spring. Hopefully the situation will improve,” he said with hope and enthusiasm.

Lastly, an emotional Miguel Ángel Pérez from the Peña Malaguista de Manilva conveyed the feeling that Malaguistas longed for when La Rosaleda was empty: “We missed the atmosphere. It was so sad to watch the games on television without fans in the stands, knowing that you could be there. When you’re in your seat, you get a feeling that words can’t describe. After the first match, you’ll never be able to stop coming here. It’s a strong feeling with solid roots.”

The Club thanks the Peñas once again for their support. Hopefully the health situation will continue to improve so we can continue holding face-to-face events with the fans, always with Memory, Commitment and Faith.
