The Malaguistas returned to training this Wednesday afternoon at the Annexe, following the end of the Copa del Rey journey, now focused on Saturday’s #MálagaLeganés clash to end the year.
Following last night’s Cup game in Majadahonda, the Malaguista squad kicked off preparations for the last league match of the year. Kick-off is on Saturday at 16:00, against CD Leganés, at La Rosaleda Stadium.
Today’s session got underway at 16:30 at the Annexe for over an hour. José Alberto’s men focused on possession work, crosses and shots at goal, ending with a match on a reduced sized pitch.
The starting players from the match at the Cerro del Espino underwent recovery training in the gym, with the exception of Dani Barrio, who trained on the pitch with the rest of the group.
Antoñín and Ismael Gutiérrez are in the final stages of their recoveries, an inflammation to the right knee and sprained right ankle, respectively. Both players underwent the first part of training inside the stadium, then subsequently moved on to the pitch to carry out personalised work with the ball alongside physical trainer, Enrique Ruiz.
Continuing the theme of absences, the following players remained on the side-lines with their recovery processes: Luis Muñoz, Ramón, Juande, Jozabed and Kevin. Meanwhile, Paulino, suffering with bilateral bacterial pneumonia, continues to rest at home.
Tomorrow, Thursday another training session will get underway at 10:30 at La Rosaleda’s facilities.
