Marcelino Torrontegui Duarte was born in Asturias (Candás, 1964) but is an adopted Malaguista and Malagueño. Almost 20 years ago, following the historic ascent to the elite for Peiró’s Málaga, a beautiful love story began between Málaga and Málaga CF and a man always linked to the world of cycling. His magical hands have treated sports stars including Miguel Indurain, Alberto Contador, Alejandro Valverde and, possibly his best friend, Swiss-born Tony Rominger. Amongst many, many more.
Whilst remaining part of the Spanish cycling team in numerous Olympic Games and World Championships, Marcelino won the heart of Malaguismo with his own particular charisma and kindness. And always with his characteristic and inimitable smile.
The prestige of Torrontegui, medically, is indisputable, transcending beyond the world of football with a method that unites psychology and quality in professional and personal treatment. A healer. And a wonderful person. You only need to see the huge number of friends who visit him on every trip with the team to the different cities in Spain and overseas.
