The ambition and youth of José Herrera arrives at Málaga CF Femenino
José Herrera will now be heading up the Blue and White women’s team, arriving on the Costa del Sol from UDG Tenerife Egatesa.
José Ángel Herrera Martín (Tenerife; 18/12/1989) will be in charge of Málaga CF Femenino for the 2019-20 season. Herrera arrives as coach of the women’s team from UD Granadilla Tenerife – fourth in the Liga Iberdrola standings. The coach joins the Málaga CF project with the objective of medium to long-term growth and promoting women’s football.

Professional career
José Herrera was assistant coach and technical analyst of UDG Tenerife Egatesa over four seasons (2015-2019). In addition, he is the international ambassador of LongoMatch Pro – Software for tactical analysis.
With a diploma in teaching and a specialist in physical education, Herrera was tactical analyst with UDG Tenerife for the team’s qualification to the semi-finals of the Copa de la Reina in the 2016-17 season.
Furthermore, he was tactical analyst with the Under-17 Canaries Team and worked with the I+D+i en NG Football Academy department in Valencia.
His career as coach began in 2007 at CD Tenerife’s Suma Campus and in 2011, he was first coach of the EF Rommel Fernández cadete team, where he began his youth career.
Specialist in tactical analysis
His training as an analyst led José Herrera to become a specialist in this field. In this aspect, he worked in the department of tactical analysis and individualised training at TNGS (Valencia, Spain). His knowledge was put into practice at UD Ibarra (Spanish Third Division) during 2016 as well as the elite of women’s football in Spain with UD Granadilla Tenerife.
His experience in Liga Iberdrola for four years makes him a connoisseur of the competition and the players competing in it, as well as teams in First Division B, where Málaga CF Femenino will be competing next season.
