The MCF Academy is a national and international reference in the training of football players. Recent victories by principal teams (Third Division Group IX champions, Copa de Campeones Juvenil, participation in the UEFA Youth League etc.) are a reflection of the great work undertaken on a daily basis by the Málaga CF youth teams.
In addition, it’s common to see Malaguista teams participate in a great number of renowned competitions, and we have several examples of this over Easter.
Generation Adidas Cup
This prestigious tournament is taking place in Dallas (Texas, United States) and a Juvenil team and Alevín team from the Malaguistas are participating. The elder of the two teams kicked off on 7th April, and is competing in Group C of the ‘Champions Division’ along with River Plate, Atlanta United FC and Colorado Rapids. They are in second place and will compete with other teams in the same position for 5th place.
For their part, the Alevín team will begin their participation tomorrow, and are in Group D of the under-12s category. They will face New York Red Bulls, Houston Dynamo, New England Revolution and Seattle Sounders.
Mundialito
Two teams, one Infantil and another Prebenjamín, will represent the MCF Academy in the 24th edition of this competition. The 11-a-side team defeated Greek side, Olympiacos in the last-16 by 4-2, and this afternoon will take part in the quarter-final.
MIC
The Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) is one of the most important tournaments in grassroots Spanish football, and a point of reference on an international level. Málaga CF’s Juvenil won this prestigious trophy on the last two occasions, and hope to make it third time lucky this year. The Blue and Whites are in Group F of the competition which kicks off today in Girona, with a record number of participants.
