Thanks again, Antonio

Antonio Tapia voluntarily leaves the Málaga CF coaching team. He ends another stage in the club of his life, this last one as assistant coach of the first team.

Antonio Tapia Flores is part of Málaga Club de Fútbol’s history. The Fuengiroleño, born in Baena, ends another cycle of his extensive career with the Blue and Whites. In June he returned to form part of the team as assistant coach, for the 22/23 season. Following the departure of Pablo Guede on the bench, Tapia has decided to step down.

Tapia's relationship with Málaga dates back to his time as a player at Atlético Malagueño. Later, he was an assistant and physical trainer for Ismael Díaz's Málaga CF, which was promoted to the Second Division in the 97/98 season.

As head coach, he made history at Málaga B by promoting the Malaguista reserve team to the silver division in 02/03. In 04/05, in the middle of the campaign, he took over the reins of Málaga CF, enjoying a historic second round in the elite. Also outstanding was his 08/09 season in the First Division, leading a recently promoted team to 8th place in the league with exquisite football.

Antonio, a man of the Club, worked at the Entity as Sports Adviser in 2012 and was coordinator of the MCF Academy (2017/18). His fervent Malaguismo and his love for the Club, full of memory, commitment and faith, make him an honorary member of the Malaguista Family. Tapia is one of us and always will be.

Thank you for your work, dedication and professionalism, Professor. Thanks once again.
