David Rodríguez Lombán (Asturias, 1987) arrived at MCF on a free transfer from SD Eibar in September 2018 at the start of the 18/19 campaign. He played 10 matches in the then Liga 1|2|3.
The following 19/20 season he consolidated himself as an important player in central defence, appearing in 27 league games and scoring three goals. A season marked by COVID-19, just like 20/21, in which he repeated similar stats (29 games and two goals in LaLiga SmartBank, plus a game in the Copa del Rey) as one of the team captains.
Last season, 21/22, Lombán once again surpassed 20 matches, playing 20 in the League and one more in the Cup, with a goal included. In total, he has officially worn the Malaguista jersey on 88 occasions (six goals).
David Lombán's commitment to the Entity has been immense, both on and off the pitch. The most obvious indication, the extension of his contract, renouncing his fees between June and July 2020 in the epilogue of the 19/20 season.
