Pre-season 2022 plan

The Málaga CF pre-season has been set: dates, places, training sessions and the first confirmed friendlies.

Six weeks of hard work before the competition gets underway – from Monday 4^th July until LaLiga SmartBank 2022/23 kicks off the weekend of 12^th – 14^th August. The pre-season will be divided into three phases. The first from the 4^th to 19^th July during which Pablo Guede’s team will be in training at the Federación Malagueña de Fútbol ground. Then, from the 20^th to the 30^th, Málaga CF will be in concentration at Hotel Sol Marbella Estepona Atalaya Park and train at the hotel complex’s football ground. For the final two weeks before the league starts, the team will resume training in Málaga at the Federación Malagueña.

The distribution of weekly training sessions over the month and a half has also been established. The Malaguistas will carry out double training sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, whilst on Wednesday just one morning session is scheduled. Friday afternoons and Saturdays are reserved for friendly fixtures, between six and seven, and on Sundays the team will rest.

Within the calendar of preparation matches, two have so far been confirmed. The first friendly will take place on Saturday 16^th July against Hull City, at 18:30 at Marbella Football Center. The other confirmed match is on Saturday 30^th July at 20:30 against Xerez Deportivo FC at the Municipal de Chapín to dispute the Vendimia Cup. After this match, the team will return to Málaga, thereby ending their concentration in Estepona. The last preparation matches are yet to be determined, which will be between four and five, with dates, rivals and venues still to be confirmed.

An exciting preseason that will serve to get the team physically ready and allow Guede to start to instil his tactical ideas.
