Joining Forces for Málaga youth football

Last Thursday, the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF hosted the presentation of the MCF Academy’s annual calendar and the “Sumemos Juntos” social campaign, an event held within the framework of the Málaga youth football agreement.

The Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF served as the meeting point on Thursday 25th September at 19:30 for an event that once again placed Málaga youth football at the centre. The MCF Academy and the MCF Foundation presented, in front of 55 clubs from the province, two key initiatives for the season: the academic activities calendar and the “Sumemos Juntos” campaign. All of this is framed within a broader agreement that goes beyond sports, aiming to instil values, promote respect, and foster a positive environment on the fields.

The event featured a large Malaguista delegation, led by José María Muñoz, the Club’s judicial administrator; Kike Pérez, general manager; Loren Juarros, sporting director; advisory board member Abdallah Ben Barek; and Jesús Gámez, Málaga CF ambassador. Representing The Academy were Carlos Dávila, head of Administration, and Guillermo Bárcena, Fútbol-7 coordinator, while the Foundation was represented by Sebastián Fernández “Basti” and Lucía Cereto, heads of the social department.

Also in attendance were Pedro A. Ramírez, general manager of the Andalusian Youth Institute; Alba Ortiz, coordinator of the Andalusian Sports Institute in Málaga; Javier Díaz Cánovas, Director of Sports for the Provincial Council; Borja Vivas, City Councillor for Sports; and Lucia Torres, from the Royal Andalusian Football Federation.

Through its youth and social programs, Málaga CF reinforces its commitment to the province’s sporting community and to the future of Málaga youth football.

“Sumemos Juntos,” the new campaign by the MCF Foundation

“Sumemos Juntos” was created in response to challenges that threaten the development of youth sports: excessive pressure from the stands, unchecked competitiveness, and the loss of values that lead many children to quit. The initiative will run throughout the season in five thematic phases: The Values That Unite Us, For Them It’s Just a Game, Healthy Habits, Inclusion and Respect, and Fair Play, featuring workshops, talks, practical guides, audiovisual content, and a strong focus on digital communication, always involving clubs, families, coaches, administrators, and referees.

The message is clear: youth football should be a place to learn, enjoy, and grow. And this goal can only be achieved if everyone contributes.

The MCF Academy calendar for the 2025-26 season

The MCF Academy has designed a comprehensive calendar of activities to support clubs throughout the season. Key offerings include sessions on optimising training and physical preparation for non-professional clubs, workshops on nutrition and injury prevention, as well as courses on communication and body language for coaches.

The program will also cover strategic topics such as season planning, the scouting model at the Academy, and leveraging marketing within youth football. In addition, there will be educational activities and initiatives to promote values, including tournaments for the youngest age groups and masterclasses from the Club’s various teams.

In addition, the Framework Agreement includes a dedicated section on the official Málaga CF website, designed to give visibility to the province’s clubs, which can be found here.
