Spain claim well-deserved runner-up title in European U-21 Championship

The ‘Rojita’ lost in the grand final of the European competition to Germany (1-0). Albert Celades’ men enjoyed an excellent tournament, endorsed by their runner-up position.

Sandro Ramírez was part of the European U-21 final, which pitted Spain against Germany on Friday evening. A precise header by Germany’s Weiser in minute 40 led to them winning the championship (1-0).

The Blue and Whites’ striker, who equals Horta as a Malaguista and runner-up of this tournament, was substituted by Iñaki Williams in minute 71 of play.

Spain’s Under-21s played a superb role on their road to the final, with victories against ARY Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia and Italy.
