Atlético Malagueño suffered an away defeat to Marbella FC on matchday 2 of Second Division B Group IV.
Dely Valdés’ boys debuted at the back the juvenil player, Ismael Casas and Juande, and upfront another striker made his debut, Joel Arimany, forming a duo with Joan Grasa. Another attacking player, who stood out last week against San Fernando, put the reserve team in front in the first half. It was the winger from the Ivory Coast, Karamoko (top photo), with a superb free kick that put the boys 0-1 up in minute 39 of play.
In the second half, Malagueño, who had options to take a 0-2 lead, saw how the rival’s greater experience turned the result around in the closing stages. In just two minutes first Montero (69’) then Juanma (71’) put Marbella 2-1 in front. In minute 85 Grasa could have evened things out but missed a penalty, whereas local player, Juanma, in the 90th minute, scored again to seal what was an intense provincial derby.
Next week Atlético Malagueño will be seeking the first win of the 18/19 season at the Federación Malagueña, against CF Talavera de la Reina.
Juvenil DH debut with a draw
The Blue and Whites began their División de Honor Group 4 journey with an away draw (3-3) on matchday 1. Yesterday’s match held at La Espiguera in Melilla was full of alternatives, the home of the always tough opponent, CF Rusadir. The standout player on Francis Bravo’s team was forward, Mike, who scored the three goals for the reigning champions of the category.
