“Sharing before competing”

La Rosaleda’s press room hosted the presentation of activities to be undertaken this coming weekend in the Málaga Phase of LaLiga Genuine, culminating at La Rosaleda from 13th to 15th May.

The Málaga Genuine team, as well as the Málaga CF Foundation’s main sponsors, attended the presentation, whose slogan was displayed on the commemorative scarves shown at the press conference. “Sharing before competing” that defines the spirit of LaLiga Genuine Santander.

Lucas Rodríguez, MCF Foundation coordinator, said this is “a very special week. Thanks to Málaga for the support and the friendly businesses that accompany us on this journey, as well as the players of course, the stars of the show. We’ve been dreaming of this wonderful moment for a long time and it’s about to become reality. It’s a unique event at a national level,” he said.

“It's going to be a celebration of sport and opportunities, with things you've never seen before,” Lucas continued, visibly emotional. “It’s a competition where there’s magic, it’s played with the heart,” he stressed. “We’re looking forward to enjoying the whole week. We all play, everyone on the pitch and everyone in the stands,” he said before taking the questions from the media.

José María Muñoz, the Club’s judicial administrator, talked about the positive economic impact on the city during the Málaga Phase of LaLiga Genuine. “There are close to 400 people, just counting the players, coaches etc. Then we’ll have all the families, some 700 or 800 people could come to Málaga. This boosts the city’s economy. Málaga continues to be a sign of inclusion and La Rosaleda is the perfect stage.”

Sebastián Fernández Reyes, ‘Basti’, spoke of the “importance of playing at La Rosaleda. All the teams want to come to Málaga. We’re going to have a great time with the boys and girls, they’ll have a blast at La Rosaleda Stadium.” The MCF Foundation Social Department member added: “It’s an historic moment. Fair Play is more important than winning a match. There’ll be some beautiful chants, the referees are great, the teams celebrate every goal…everyone will have a good time.”

Lucas focuses on the emotional factor: “There are experiences that move you. You rarely see a goal celebration like this. That enthusiasm is something magical. They’re going to surprise us, because they surprise us every day. They're unique. I call on the fans to come and see what they can all do.”

“Entrance is free, all the family can come, all ages. We’re going to open the doors to everyone,” said Basti, who defined MCF as “the best club in the world.” Finally, Lucas highlighted the involvement of the families of the boys and girls from the Supercapacitad@s Football School. “They’re always there supporting and giving their all. They’re working hard, organising themselves, to do their best so that Málaga is a phase that will never be forgotten.”

Malaguistas, Malagueños, you’re all invited to La Rosaleda this weekend. It’s going to be amazing! Viva LaLiga Genuine!
