Sergio Sánchez’s statments:

(Copa del Rey). “It does hurt that it didn’t happen.  The team gave their all during the 90 minutes and we can hold our heads high for the work that was done.  It’s not easy standing up to them in the way that we did, it was a very even match and it was decided on a fortunate knock in their favour, and there’s nothing more to add but to congratulate them.  Perhaps in terms of goals we’re not having much luck, but there’s no other option but to continue working hard.  We must all try and contribute to that aspect.”

(Sporting). “Nowadays which team doesn’t make it difficult for you? Beyond that, it’s a difficult ground and they’re a seasoned team that’s going to make it tough but Málaga mustn’t allow points to escape and we’re going there with the intention of bring the three points home.”

(Personal).  “I always try and work hard both for me and the team, I try to give my all and as times goes on I’m feeling more secure, more confident in the games.  I train to the max to be chosen. Gámez?  The competition that you have is that you put on yourself, but if you have a teammate that makes things tricky, that’s also good, it’s healthy competition, we have a good friendship and that’s what makes a great team.”
 
(Friendly in Egypt).  “We must take Málaga everywhere and this is the first step.  We hope to get to that event with our homework done in the League so we can enjoy it, God willing.”

(Assessment of first leg). “If we’re being realistic, last year Málaga had a bad time of it, and this year we aspire to great things in the best league in the world.  There’s a big margin for improvement, many new players have joined us this year and that needs time so we can all get to know each other better and then level of the team will go up for sure.”

(Rumours about Kameni).  “I know what you know.  I have a good relationship with him and if there was something definite he would have told me, but he’s not confirmed anything to me.”
