“It will be a very intense match; we are going in with the idea of seeking victory”
Blue and White coach Sergio Pellicer spoke at a press conference ahead of #MirandésMálaga. “We are very focused; this long week has been very beneficial for us,” he stated.
CD Mirandés, great rival “They are a team that is the true revelation on their own merits. We are similar in terms of what we convey, a very intense team, hungry, well-prepared, and the best home side in the league alongside Elche. With many young players, they know how to handle different technical-tactical structures, showing us that the collective takes precedence over the individual.”
Good week “We are very focused, it’s been a long week that has been very beneficial for us. We know tomorrow will be a very intense match, and we’ll try to anticipate what happens, aware that they are very strong, but with the mindset of continuing and aiming for victory. A very tough and demanding second half of the season lies ahead, and we need to focus on ourselves.”
Two similar teams “They have earned their points because they deserve them, and so have we. They also draw a lot of matches, it’s about details, small situations. We are two of the teams, along with Elche, that concede the fewest goals, each with its own structure. We have to be brave, eliminate opponents, and look for depth while staying true to our identity. That is the key to achieving our objectives. And we need to be ourselves against a great opponent that is the revelation of the league.”
Chupete and Moussa “(Chupete) He trained with us, and he will be on the squad list. He has earned the chance to travel and be with us. Performance must be recognised. He’s another option, and we will continue with this approach, always seeking the best for the player and the club (…) I want to thank Moussa for the work he has done. He has overcome obstacles. Here, the performance level of the three centre-backs is very high, which is a result of what we see from Monday to Saturday, and he is a big reason why that performance is maintained. He’s a promising option for the future. I wish him all the best because he truly deserves it.”
14 January, a special day
“It was my debut as both a coach and a player. I remember when I came here and made my debut as a player against Cádiz. And that 14th against Ponferradina, as a coach, you look back on it and reflect to improve. This is my family. The club made a feature about me, and when things are done with heart, it shows. Thanks to the entire coaching staff and everyone I’ve worked with, they all help you along the way.”
