“We’ve let two points slip away; we have to be self-critical”

David Larrubia spoke in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room after #MálagaCórdoba. “We understand the criticism and we take it on; we have to correct our mistakes,” he said.

Analysis of the 2-2 draw

“We’ve let two points slip away. We’re in a tough spot because of the situation (…) I don’t know if it’s a lack of concentration or what. We have to keep working, and we’re the first ones who are frustrated for not getting a win. We have to be self-critical.”

Almost done

“We had to win this match against a Córdoba side that is a great team, and we almost had it done.”

Unity is key

“The team is united. At home, we play much better, and we feel very comfortable. The team is united, and that unity is what makes this team strong.”

Demanding environment

“We know we are at Málaga, a historic team, and that the fans want us to go up and keep growing. The supporters can express their opinions, we understand the criticism, we take it on, and we are the first to take responsibility. We have to correct our mistakes and be self-critical within the dressing room.”

Opponent’s sending-off and Eneko’s disallowed goal

“It was a foul, the ball was going long… it was a foul, but I don’t know if it was a red card. I don’t know all the rules. I saw the second play on the video screen, and I don’t want to get involved in the referee’s decisions.”

Kevin Medina

“I have a great relationship with Kevin. Even though he hasn’t been getting many minutes, we know the player he is and that he’s a hard-working guy. He deserves all the good things that happen to him.”
