The German-born coach states: “Looking back at our performance, failing to equalise earlier on in the game led us to lose our nerve.  Osasuna was the superior side in the first half without a doubt, our defence wasn’t strong enough and we left too much space for them to reach the goal.  We tried everything to score in the second half, but it wasn’t to be.”
 
“Osasuna were well positioned on the pitch throughout the game.  I think we got a little complacent with regards to ball possession tonight.  We made some defensive errors which led us to lose control of play, and we simply weren’t quick enough.  The rival worked well on the counter attack and created numerous goal opportunities.  In the second half I think we were unlucky not to get a goal, but we should have equalised much sooner,” affirms Schuster.
