Sangalli: The match could have gone either way

The Malaguista midfielder spoke to the media in Castellón after the game. “It was decided by small details; this has only just started and the season is very long,” he said.

Luca Sangalli appeared before the media in Castalia to review the Primera Federación Group 2 matchday 1 clash.

The midfielder acknowledged that it was “a complicated match, hard-fought and very even with opportunities for both teams. They took the game with details, but I’m happy for the team's hard work, it could have gone either way,” he stated.

Delving into the analysis of the match, Sangalli went on to say: “We were at a very difficult ground, they pile the pressure on with their fans. We went through some tough moments and others in which we knew how to control and play our game. We would like to have dominated throughout but it’s hard in this division and at these grounds.”

Despite the setting and the rival’s approach, the Malaguista team was alive throughout the game. “At times where we were playing directly, we had options to plant ourselves in the rival field and reach the goal with options. If we had taken advantage of ours, the result would have been different.” Sangalli said.

The Malaguista midfielder is convinced the team will return to the pre-season dynamic: “This has just begun, there’s a long way to go. We're going to want to win every game we can, but it's going to be difficult. We did a good job, in certain phases we were better. By adjusting the minor mistakes, we can get to a good level, the season is long and we want to return to winning ways.”

Lastly, Sangalli talked about the high demands of the fans for this season: “The pressure is there, it's something positive for the team because we have a lot of people behind us who feel the colours. It’s a great responsibility for us.”
