S. Castel: “I was confident in our ability to equalise”
The Blue and White forward spoke at the end of the match against Cádiz CF. “The fans were fantastic, cheering and making themselves heard,” he said.
Match analysis
“Cádiz are a team of great quality; they come from the First Division. We have recently been promoted from the Primera Federación, so, ultimately, for me and for everyone, it’s a valuable point.”
Confidence in the draw
“I was completely convinced of our ability. The most important thing is that we are sure of our plan. I don't know how it was perceived from the outside, but we were clear about what we needed to do. It’s common in a match like this, when you find yourself down 2-0, to end up conceding four goals. However, we kept our calm, and in the end, we achieved the draw, which I believe is the fairest outcome.”
Grateful to the fans
“It's impressive. We are extremely grateful to all the Málaga fans who came, especially on such a difficult day. They were fantastic, cheering and making themselves heard.”
Happy for the goal
“I am very satisfied to be able to contribute to the club. The coach has given me the opportunity to play and try to turn the situation around, so I’m very happy about the goal. I haven't had much consistency, but whenever I can help the team, especially by scoring, which is what is expected of a striker, I feel very happy to do so.”
Competition in the division
“Yes, in the end, it is true that we are lacking that extra step, especially at home, where we need to earn more points. However, it is also noteworthy that, after eight or nine matches, we have only suffered one defeat. This division is complicated, as we have mentioned; any team can pull off a surprise, and you can't relax. That's why I think it's very important to avoid defeat.”
