Rubén Castro breaks another historic record

Last Friday, the Malaguista forward became the player with the most official matches between the First and Second Division, reaching 710 to surpass Nino, who he also equalled with his goal as all-time top scorer in the silver category, with 194 goals.

Rubén Castro continues to break individual records. On 20th February La Rosaleda witnessed how he became the top national scorer in LaLiga by reaching 285 goals in #MálagaRealZaragoza, and last Friday at the Estadio de la Cerámica he broke the record of official matches played between the First and Second Division, 710, beating Almería-born striker Nino. In addition, with his goal, he matches him as the top scorer in history in the silver category, with a total of 194 goals.

For the Blue and White number ‘24’, the 7th April 2023 will always be remembered as the day he achieved the all-time record for official matches between the two categories of Spanish professional football. During #VillarrealBMálaga he also scored the second goal in the Blue and White victory to keep the dream alive of remaining in the category. One goal, his ninth this current 2022/23 season and the 194th in his career in the Second Division. The next one he scores will be enough to accredit him as the top all-time scorer in LaLiga SmartBank.

Congratulations, legend!
