Roque and Aarón at the 15th Anniversary of the Manilva ‘Peña’
Paraguayan-born striker, Roque Santa Cruz, and reserve team goalkeeper, Aarón Escandell were present at the 15th anniversary celebrations of the ‘Malaguista’ supporters’ club in Manilva.
Both Blue and Whites’ players represented the Club, along with the charismatic Basti, from the Málaga CF Foundation. Representatives from the Federation of ‘Peñas Malaguistas’, Pepe León and Pedro Corona were also in attendance, as well as Mayor of Manilva, Diego José Jiménez, and municipal sports councillor, Agustín Vargas.
The event was divided into three different parts; firstly there was a visit to the Wine Museum within the “Viñas de Manilva” centre; secondly in the auditorium of the centre, Santa Cruz and Aarón signed autographs, postcards and posed for photos with numerous ‘Malaguista’ fans; and finally, there was an exchange of gifts at the ‘peña’s headquarters, ‘Cafetería Nacho’, commemorating the anniversary of one of the longest-serving supporters’ clubs in the province.
“We want to encourage ‘Malaguismo’ so that our children, and our children’s children become ‘Malaguistas’, and also support Málaga through the good times and bad,” affirms the president of the ‘peña’, Lorenzo Zotano. Basti adds: “We’re grateful for all your effort, and are so proud that you continue to support the Club and keep growing,” regarding the support of ‘peñas’ all over the province who go to La Rosaleda to see the matches.
