Romero: “I don’t think it’s fair, but the goals are what counts”
Blue and Whites’ coach, Marcelo Romero held a press conference at El Sadar following #OsasunaMálaga: “We were able to secure a draw to enable us to continue accumulating points”.
Hard work and result
“We need to try and maintain this attitude. The results will come with hard work, and today we took an important step forward at a very tough ground, with both teams playing for their lives. I don’t think the result is fair, but the goals are what counts”.
Match analysis
“As a result of Recio’s injury we changed the system slightly, and with the introduction of Charles we had two forwards to continue focusing on the attack. With regard to a possible Charles’ penalty, it wasn’t to be, but it’s the referee’s job to make the decision at that moment. I need to see again the action that led to the rival goal, to determine if it was offside. The important thing is the team fought until the end. Charles had the winner, so did ‘Onti’, and perhaps if the possible penalty had been declared, the story would have been different”.
Improvement in aerial play
“We knew they would play long, and Camacho did a great job, as did Luis with the ball in the air. We recovered many, Martín (Demichelis) did too, with an impressive performance. We also sought speed upfront with Santos to move away from the rival. Logically, due to the situation in the match, the teams were decompensating towards the end, but we were able to secure a draw to enable us to continue accumulating points”.
