Rolan: “We’re not lacking commitment, because we’re professionals”
Diego Rolan was the Blue and Whites’ player in charge of today’s press conference, at the Ciudad de Málaga press room. “I’m still a bit lacking physically, but the injury is now forgotten”.
Individual aspect
“I’m feeling really good, obviously the more training sessions and matches I’m part of, the more pace I’ll gain, as I was out of group training for over two months. I’m still a bit lacking physically, but the injury is now forgotten”.
Professionalism
“We’re not lacking commitment, because we’re professionals, we work to a high intensity in every training session and do what we need to do. However, when it comes to playing matches, we can’t convey what we do in training sessions on the pitch. I also think we need a bit of good luck. We’re creating situations, but not scoring goals. We can be more forceful, but there’s certainly no lack of professionalism”.
Realistic
“The situation is extremely difficult, we must be realistic. As football players, we feel awful, but the important thing in the team is that there’s commitment to the cause, that we continue to work hard, not give up for the remainder of the season and try to do the best we possibly can”.
Tension
“We must free ourselves from all the tension we have. On the one hand, we all want to do things in the correct way, as we have that commitment and necessity and want everything to go well; but at the same time, bad things can happen on the pitch, we’re very nervous, so we need to rid ourselves of that feeling to enable us to let go a little more on the field of play”.
Málaga and the Club
“(Coming here) It was a good decision for me, it may work out, it may not. The team is going through a bad patch, but despite the situation, I’m very happy to be here, working with my great teammates who are wholly committed and work very well. Also, everyone who works within the Club, they’re all lovely and I believe Málaga deserves a lot more than this, that’s for sure”.
Future
“It I stay here in Málaga, it would be a great pleasure because of everything I’ve just said. We’re a good team that deserves far more, we’re missing a bit of good fortune, and football isn’t being fair to us. In addition, because of everyone that surrounds the Club, and for everyone who works here, the truth is I’d be extremely happy to stay”.
