The MCF Academy focuses on skincare

The RFAF brings its ‘Club Salud’ to La Rosaleda, with a talk by prestigious dermatologist Leandro Martínez Pilar to a hundred players from the Malaguista youth ranks.

The skin is the body’s largest organ. Correct skincare is vital for our health, and in addition, is a determining factor in sports performance. Living a healthy lifestyle in a physical capacity is very important, which is something the MCF Academy teams learned about this afternoon at La Rosaleda.

The Andalusian Football Federation is undertaking the ‘Club Salud’ program, which aims to promote good habits amongst the players of the future. The professor of Sports Nutrition and director of health at the RFAF, Antonio Escribano took charge of this initiative, which includes four main areas: ‘Club Alimentación, Club Asistencia, Club Vida and Club Piel’. This afternoon’s exhibition was based on the latter, skincare, held at the Blue and Whites’ stadium.

Member of the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, Basti, accompanied Doctor Leandro Martínez Pilar, director of Dermatology at Málaga Regional Hospital, and president of the Andalusian section of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV), who explained to the more than 90 players about the special relationship between skin and sporting performance.

Doctor Leandro Martinez states, “The importance of acquiring healthy habits during the years of sports development ensures better lifelong health”. Hygiene, proper hydration and skin protection all have a decisive influence on an athlete’s ability, as well as preventing illnesses and injuries.
