“Referees make mistakes, they’re human, but it’s forgotten now”

The Argentine striker turns the page, and after the Competition Committee removed one of the two yellow cards, he’s now only focused on Sporting.

Expulsion

“I was hoping they’d remove one of the cards as there was no bad intention during the play. It was a very dubious situation for the referee, he made the decision. He didn’t say anything to me, I went up to him to speak to him, but he didn’t let me and sent me to the dressing room. These are matches, and you have to face them with 11, 10 or 9 players. We have the next game coming up and we’ll try to score points”.

Fouls

“I receive many fouls during games, I never protest, I keep playing. I leave that job to the referees who at times succeed and other times fail, but it doesn’t matter, they’re human”.

Sporting de Gijón

“I’ve already forgotten about the last game, now it’s time to focus on Sporting and obtaining a good result. It’s going to be a very difficult match with the crowd against us. We’ll have to be good on all lines, both in defence, midfield and upfront”.

Changes

“We’ve got good players, good changes. Myself, my teammates and the coaching team trust one another and hope to play a good game”.

Long season

“This is very long, we’re not thinking about being first, second or third. It doesn’t influence us. We have to keep working hard to improve, there are a lot of matches remaining over many months. We’re not even half way there, we must continue like this, step by step, then in a few months we’ll see where we are”.
